2021 思緒漫遊 To Drift Off
來到臺東美術館樹下乘涼的人們，靜靜的待著，感受風的時候，他們想起了什麼？
我來到人們面前，邀請他們回想腦海中浮現的聲音，可能是一首歌、一段話，或是一個用語言描述的聲音狀態。隨著時間經過，他們隨口哼唱的旋律、述說的場景，成為我腦海中的聲音風景。我想像腦裡的空間就像是有殘響的所在，於是我將錄製的聲音，重新在海邊、隧道、函洞中播放，發現原有的音色、地、意義，都將跟著改變。
聲音正在以他特有的方式，不停地流動著，這些旋律、歌詞隨著空間的轉換逐漸模糊，僅留下歌聲的尾韻與人的呼吸。耳朵無法被關上，聆聽腦海中的頻率的當下，也同時聽得見外在的聲音。記憶的樣貌不停的改變，這些從遠方捎來的訊息，也正與聽者產生另一種新的關係。
邀請您來到四棵樹下躺著，讓思緒漫遊，聆聽這些被挑選的聲音和對應的樹下，以及他們因為當下的風、陽光所產生的變化。聲音記憶就像是沒有形狀的風影，當樹在眼前搖曳，光穿梭其中，身體感受到的震動和從不同方向傳來的旋律片段，就是記憶為我們從遠方捎來的訊息。

As they feel the breeze, what memories stir within them?
I approached them, inviting them to recall a sound from their minds—a song, a fragment of conversation, or a scene described through language. Over time, the melodies they hummed and the stories they told became the "sonic landscapes" of my own mind. Imagining my internal space as a place of resonance, I took these recordings and re-played them by the sea, in tunnels, and through culverts. I discovered that the original timbre, the sense of place, and even the meaning of these sounds began to shift.
Sound flows in its own unique way. As spaces transition, melodies and lyrics blur, leaving only the trailing resonance of voices and the rhythm of breath. Our ears cannot be closed; even as we listen to the frequencies within our minds, we remain attuned to the world outside. Memories are constantly reshaped, and these "messages from afar" forge new relationships with every listener. I invite you to lie down beneath these four trees.
Let your thoughts wander. Listen to these curated sounds and their corresponding trees, and observe how they evolve with the wind and sunlight of the moment. Sonic memory is like a shapeless shadow of the wind. As the trees sway and light dances through the leaves, the vibrations you feel and the melodic fragments drifting from every direction are the messages that memory has brought to us from afar.
